Trekking to Hatu Pahu Pahu, Ora Beach.

Continue from the first post, here is the third day at Ora Beach. Not much different from second day, it was raining lightly, lighter.

Crossing the sea by boat for 15-20 minutes we arrived at another beach still in Seram Island, under the rain we start trekking to a point where we could see an awesome view from above, and I forgot how high it was, but it only took 15 minutes to hike. The cliff was named as Hatu Pahu Pahu and it has three points for people to hike, point one to three, three is the highest about one hour hiking. Unfortunately, we only stop at the first, the lowest, it was not reccomended to go higher because of slippery tracks (because of rain!).

Well, I suggest if you go to Ora Beach try hiking higher the view must be fascinating. And try jumping from cliff Hatupia, will challenge your adrenaline. image Continue reading

Visiting Ora Beach, never be a mistake.

A week before going to Ora, I was checking the weather forecast wishing that the weather would not be same with Jakarta, which at that moment Jakarta was raining a lot.

My friends and I had been planning this holiday since last year, we booked the Ora Beach Resort around September 2014, gathered 12 people to join the trip so that the share cost should be lower. Me myself bought the ticket in November 2014, 2.5 million rupiah for a round trip ticket. It’s only a month and half after Rinjani Trip which was in mid February on Chinese New Year Holiday. And in between I had mountain trips in West Java that made my skin getting darker, but here we go :

Around 00.30 on Thursday Feb 19, our flight departed to Pattimura Airport and landed at 06.00 in the morning. One hour to Tulehu Port by car, 2 hours to Amahai Port (Masohi) by fast boat (or ferry?), another 3 hours to Saleman Village on Seram Island (we stopped to have lunch) by car, and finally 15 minutes from Saleman village to Ora Eco Resort by long boat, it was 3 PM.

Duo backpackers, Bali : Menjangan, Nusa Lembongan

Until I posted on http://www.backpackerindonesia.com forum I got a new friend who would join me to go to Bali. It was random idea to go on Christmas holiday because I got several days off before joining Rinjani trip for the new year holiday (previous post). Here was the agenda :

Dec 24 : morning flight to Surabaya, had a full day enjoying city explore. Had night train to Banyuwangi. In the train we met several other backpackers who shared the same feeling about low cost traveling.

Dec 25 : arrived Banyuwangi at dawn and continued to take 45-60 minutes ferry to Bali. And off to Menjangan island directly. We met another two friends at Menjangan which had been in contact before, and we organized the share cost for one day menjangan snorkeling, it was about 150K each including the boat and a guide. image

New year at 3726 m asl

image

A long the year of 2014 I had been planning to hike Mt. Rinjani with some friends. The first plan was to hike in the middle of the year to avoid the rainy season. Plan changed due to work schedule and finally several friends just went by their own.

As I looked at my timeline and estimated the right time to take day off, I chose 25 December 2014 – 4 January 2015. I am on luck the project finished on schedule and I could easily go.

It’s rainy season of course, I knew I should be more careful to hike in this season and prepared everything, I had Semeru-rainy-experience last year that made me re-pack my carrier several times choosing clothes… choosing socks…etc. I even bought new waterproof and windproof gears.

Wisata Gunung schedule for Rinjani was 29 Dec – 4 Jan, so I made a new plan to visit Bali and Lombok from 25 Dec. And problem came which I needed to bring more clothes for beachhhh ! It took little bit (much) effort to organize my stuff as you can see below bag. Time to go !

Jodoh, Destiny

I am not the one who is capable to write this topic,  but the thing I know for sure that Allah is the best planner and creates the best plan for each of us about this.

For 23 years of my life time as for today, finally I keep wondering whether I take the good path or not. I know Islam teaches us not to have serious relationship beside marriage, and before that ta’aruf is the best way. I keep following that path, InsyaAllah.

But, I also keep questioning how far my prayers go? How can I know he is the one or not the one? At the same time I know the answer, through Shalat Istikharah is one of the way to ask.

Has been here : 0 KM Indonesia – Weh Island [Sabang Trip Part 1]

I believe, whoever loves traveling, weh island is one of the dream destinations. On April 17, I took half day work because, that date was the date written on my flight ticket to Aceh, Thursday 17 April 2013 17.35.

The planning initially came from Semeru group because one of friend lives in Aceh. Okay, me and Fathia were the most excited to plan the trip. We bought the ticket in January and were busy planning everything such what to do there, where to visit, and of course the budget. We were worried because seemed only 3 of us wanted to join the trip, until I posted the plan on BPI Forum and backpacker facebook, and people started contacting me and finally we got 14 people for this group trip. In early April, we started to reserve the car, bungalow in Sabang, and hotel in Aceh. And H-1 we finally finalized the itinerary and completed the budgeting. Yey !

The journey started by having very heavy traffic on the way to Soeta Airport, no wonder because it was long weekend holiday, everyone seemed to have their planning to go on holiday. Anyw, after very last minutes checked in, we finally met each other in the boarding waiting room. FYI, the group consist of me and my friends (4 people), Rizky by his own still univ student, Mba Lilita’s group (3 people), Fachri and friends (6 people).

After having short transit in Medan, we arrived Sultan Iskandar Muda Intl Airport – Aceh around 10PM. I can say that this is the most silent and quiet airport ever, we only walked around 5 minutes to reach the outer gate.

Thursday night in Aceh? Not like what I heard before, the city was still alive at 11PM, many restaurant and coffee shop still open at this hour. We soon asked the driver to take us to eat the most famous mie aceh in town, Mie Aceh Razali, right next to it, the famous Nasi Goreng Daus, both of them provide various combination of seafood. Full enough eating mie aceh, we directly went to Chrystall Guesthouse at Sultan Iskandar Street to spend the night before off to Sabang the next day. Oh ya, make sure when you visit Aceh, spend your time enjoying night by drinking coffee at one of coffee shop, the famous ones : yellow coffee & dhapu coffee.

Semeru, Ready ?

Teman, benar ternyata kalau naik gunung itu adiktif, to be true because it happens to me.

Kinda sweet of them ya ❤

So, Ready ?

Note :

Our Semeru trip started from Desember 18th – 22nd, 2013. It’s kinda late to write story about 4-month-ago-trip, it became my habit because work gets busy todays, but hopefully I still can continue writing about my interesting moments.

This is the picture of my brother which I envy too much and intended to take picture here also :

Getting Away

Did I ever say that I love traveling ? oh yes, you  can look back to my older writings about my ‘city explore’ and ‘nature explore’ traveling in other countries and in Indonesia.

I realize, now I’m trying to write again after my last writing over a year ago. A year, many things happened including my way to get away from anything related to my dad, I don’t know it just took me so much time to wake up and get up from my very bottom position, but yeah I have my new interests to make me motivated as I inhale and exhale my breath everyday.

After city explore is too mainstream to travel, I follow my brothers traveling story, about how they worship nature and how they learn many things about nature and human. I am amazed, and currently I am more into exploring mountains ! It’s my current getting away.

Batik, a heritage we should proud of.

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

Yesterday, which is Sunday June 23 I went to Museum Tekstil Jakarta to attend “Pemilihan Duta Museum Tekstil”. Although not much people know about this event, but for me this is an important purpose for us, for Indonesians to know about Museum Tekstil, which is located between Pelni Hospital and Tanah Abang Market, Jl. Tubun. Anyway, I am not talking much about the ambassadors, one sure catches my eyes is Ngebatik (Doing Batik) on Pendopo Batik ( A place to make Batik).

First of all, we were given a small square white fabric to draw whatever pattern we like using a usual pencil. Don’t worry, for amateur like me, they gave samples to draw so that I could easily follow the pattern. I drew a peacock at the center, leaves and waves surround as I improvised. After the wax boiled enough, we applied the hot wax onto the cloth by using canting tools (see the picture below about canting tool). Then we applied according to the pattern we drew, carefully, lines between lines. Make sure to apply the wax to both sides of  the cloth. The wax color we used was dark brown and it’s the basic color for canting process.

You can’t do directly as you see the picture, the instructor taught us about “sitting”, “canting”, and “even how we hold the cloth” technique. If we disobey any of these, surely the result would not come out as we expected. As I was applying the wax, I replaced the wax inside the canting tool with the new one several times to make it apparently perfect, but, the hot  wax landed to my skin and I was shocked.
